During this webinar led by the Rodale Institute Farm Innovations team, they will focus on designing, installing, and using a variety of styles of portable and semi portable electric fences.
They will begin by looking at maps as a tool for planning your fence outline. Then look at the variety of fences available to suit the needs of your operation. They will cover poultry netting, 4-5 strand fencing for goats and sheep, 1-2 strand fencing suitable for larger animals, perimeter fencing, subdividing paddocks within your field, 3-D anti deer fencing, grounding, and energizers. They will discuss how to move livestock within fencing and some of the successes and failures they have had at the Midwest Organic Center. Finally, they will examine the age-old adage “the best fence is a good pasture.”
