Grazing Workshop with Steven Kenyon
GrassWorks is excited to support the Steve Kenyon event series taking place in Sinsinawa, Viroqua, and Reedsburg, WI! The Viroqua event is hosted by Vernon County Land and Water Conservation Department and Valley Stewardship Network and takes place on August 19th from 9am-3pm. The first half of the event will be a pasture walk led by Kenyon and local graziers, followed by lunch and presentations at Viroqua Elementary School. More details coming soon!
For over 25 years, Steve Kenyon has been custom grazing on leased land near Edmonton, Alberta under the name of Greener Pastures Ranching Ltd. By using extended grazing techniques, he is able to pasture cattle year-round. This is done by using a combination of regenerative and dormant season grazing as well as swath grazing, crop residue and bale grazing.
Steve has been teaching sustainable grazing management along with agricultural economics for more than 20 years. He has been a keynote speaker at many conferences and seminars throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe. He has also been a writer for the Stockman Grass Farmer and Canadian Cattleman magazines for over 15 years, as well as the creator and host of the ongoing Wednesday Night Networking webinar and podcast. Steve has become well respected in the agriculture community for his business management practices and innovative ideas.
This is a free event but registration is encouraged by August 15th. More details and register here! Questions? Contact contact Vernon County Land and Water Conservation Department at 608-637-5480 or Valley Stewardship Network at 608-637-3615.
