SUMMARY:Great River Graziers Pasture Walk Series - Studnicka Cattle Co.
DESCRIPTION:All are welcome at this pasture walk series\, facilitated by Vance Haugen (507) 459-0495 \n\n\n\nGreat River Graziers is a peer to peer learning network of graziers in Southwest Wisconsin\, primarily centered around Crawford County. For our pasture walks\, we ask that the host come with a question or situation in which they are looking to improve. The attendees will play a large role in offering assistance\, advice\, knowledge\, and experience to help answer the host’s question or improve their situation. \n\n\n\nThis is an active learning opportunity for all present\, not a showcase. \n\n\n\nFor Ryan’s topic\, we will discuss how to extend the grazing season and limit the amount of days spent feeding hay to beef cattle through stockpiling and other grazing methods. \n\n\n\nwww.crawfordstewardship.org/grg \n\n\n\n**check Facebook for schedule updates**

SUMMARY:What Happens When We Till? A Soil Health Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Tilling and plowing our soil is a powerful tool—but like any tool\, it’s not right for every job. Join us for this hands-on workshop as we build a shared “know-till” mindset and discuss ways to make smart tillage decisions based on soil conditions\, crops\, and context. \n\n\n\nWe’re bringing a USDA-NRCS rainfall simulator to Milwaukee (for potentially the first time ever!) so we can see firsthand the impact that different management practices have on soil. \n\n\n\nYou’ll learn: \n\n\n\n\nHow tillage affects soil health—and what that means for your weed management\, irrigation\, and fertilization\n\n\n\nTips to choose the right tillage methods and equipment for your production goals\n\n\n\nAlternate no- and low-till practices that can help manage weeds\, reduce soil compaction\, and terminate cover crops\n\n\n\n\nPlus\, take home FREE cover crop seed to plant this season! \n\n\n\nFree event\, register here!
