SUMMARY:Great River Graziers Pasture Walk Series
DESCRIPTION:All are welcome at this pasture walk series\, facilitated by Vance Haugen (507) 459-0495 \n\n\n\nGreat River Graziers is a peer to peer learning network of graziers in Southwest Wisconsin\, primarily centered around Crawford County. For our pasture walks\, we ask that the host come with a question or situation in which they are looking to improve. The attendees will play a large role in offering assistance\, advice\, knowledge\, and experience to help answer the host’s question or improve their situation. \n\n\n\nThis is an active learning opportunity for all present\, not a showcase. \n\n\n\nThis walk will cover: Tillage considerations when establishing pasture in heavily outwintered areas. Reviewing nutrient management plan and soil samples. Increasing fertility over time with minimal commercial fertilizer. \n\n\n\nwww.crawfordstewardship.org/grg \n\n\n\n**check Facebook for schedule updates**

SUMMARY:Cover Crops + Collars: Expanding Your Grazing Potential
DESCRIPTION:More forage. More flexibility. More grazing potential. How can you get more grazing days from your land—and make the work of managing livestock more manageable? Join Fields of Sinsinawa for an interactive field day exploring two tools for expanding grazing potential: cover crops and virtual fencing collars. We’ll look at how cover crops can extend the grazing season and provide additional forage\, and how virtual fencing can help expand the grazing footprint while reducing the time and labor required to move livestock. Come see these approaches in action\, ask questions\, and consider what might work on your own farm. \n\n\n\nThis event was originally planned for Thursday Oct. 15 but has been rescheduled for Tuesday October 20 due to rain. \n\n\n\nWe’ll meet at the shed at 2551 County Rd. Z\, Hazel Green\, WI\, then load up on people movers to go see the field. After the event\, we’ll come back to the shed for burgers\, brats\, and camaraderie. \n\n\n\nHere’s a short video of some of the cows at the Mound grazing on a foggy morning earlier this year: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/aSsF8GSCJDE
