SUMMARY:Webinar: Electric Livestock Fencing—from Poultry to Cattle
DESCRIPTION:During this webinar led by the Rodale Institute Farm Innovations team\, they will focus on designing\, installing\, and using a variety of styles of portable and semi portable electric fences. \n\n\n\nThey will begin by looking at maps as a tool for planning your fence outline. Then look at the variety of fences available to suit the needs of your operation. They will cover poultry netting\, 4-5 strand fencing for goats and sheep\, 1-2 strand fencing suitable for larger animals\, perimeter fencing\, subdividing paddocks within your field\, 3-D anti deer fencing\, grounding\, and energizers. They will discuss how to move livestock within fencing and some of the successes and failures they have had  at the Midwest Organic Center. Although an experienced dairy farmer\, Derek is new to managed rotational grazing. So Derek joined the GrassWorks Livestock Graziers Mentorship program in the spring of 2025 to learn more about grazing!
